The EinScan Rigil 3D Scanner is SHINING 3D’s professional all in one handheld scanning platform designed for demanding reverse engineering, manufacturing, automotive, 3D printing and digital capture applications.
Unlike conventional handheld scanners that depend heavily on an external computer, the EinScan Rigil integrates the scanner, display, computing hardware, storage and power system into one portable device. This allows you to scan, process, inspect and export 3D data directly from the scanner while still providing PC wireless and wired connectivity when additional computing power is required.
The EinScan Rigil combines three scanning technologies into one professional platform. Its 25 + 25 crossed blue laser lines are designed for fast and efficient data capture, while 7 parallel blue laser lines provide the fine detail required for precision scanning. IR VCSEL scanning provides wide coverage and rapid capture of medium and large objects.
The system allows operators to move between different scanning requirements without changing devices, making the Rigil suitable for everything from small engineered parts through to vehicles, machinery, sculptures and human body scanning.
In Laser HD mode, the EinScan Rigil achieves volumetric accuracy of up to 0.04 + 0.06 mm/m with resolution down to 0.05 mm. Laser scanning speeds reach up to 4,800,000 points per second, allowing professional users to capture detailed geometry efficiently.
The 25 + 25 crossed laser line configuration is ideal for high speed scanning, while the 7 parallel laser lines provide enhanced control when fine surface details need to be captured.
For larger objects and fast data capture, the Rigil includes an IR VCSEL scanning mode capable of scanning at up to 16,000,000 points per second.
IR Rapid mode provides a working distance of approximately 160 to 1500 mm, giving the operator more flexibility when scanning larger objects. It is also designed for efficient portrait and human body scanning.
The EinScan Rigil uses SHINING 3D’s Super Hybrid Alignment system together with AI powered tracking to help maintain stable tracking across challenging surfaces and complex geometry.
The scanner can combine feature, marker, texture and global marker tracking depending on the selected scanning mode. AI assisted tracking helps convert weaker surface features into useful alignment references, while real time global optimisation helps reduce tracking drift and alignment errors.
This makes the scanner particularly useful when working with complex structures, confined areas and objects where placing tracking markers would be difficult or time consuming.
Feature rich objects can be scanned using their natural geometry as tracking references, reducing the need to apply markers before scanning.
For objects with limited geometric features, texture assisted alignment can use colour information as an additional reference to improve tracking stability. The result is less preparation, fewer interruptions and a faster scanning workflow.
The Rigil has been designed to handle difficult materials including reflective metal and black plastic. Scene adaptive scanning modes help optimise capture when working with dark or reflective components and can reduce the need for scanning spray in suitable applications.
This makes the EinScan Rigil particularly attractive for automotive, engineering and industrial environments where components frequently have dark, glossy or metallic surfaces.
One of the biggest advantages of the EinScan Rigil is its complete onboard workflow. Scanning, processing, editing and exporting can all be performed directly on the scanner.
The onboard workflow includes multi project alignment, scan rewind and resume, automatic cutting plane detection, point cloud editing, advanced noise reduction, mesh editing, coordinate alignment and dimensional measurement.
This allows technicians and engineers to complete more of the scanning workflow on site instead of returning to a workstation before evaluating their scan data.
The EinScan Rigil features an 8 core 2.4 GHz processor combined with 32 GB LPDDR5 RAM, 64 GB eMMC storage and a 1 TB SSD.
A built in 6.4 inch 2K AMOLED touchscreen allows operators to view, rotate, zoom and inspect scan data directly on the scanner.
The rechargeable and replaceable battery system allows batteries to be swapped during longer scanning sessions, while built in WiFi 6 provides wireless connectivity when required.
A dedicated 5 MP texture camera allows the EinScan Rigil to capture colour and surface texture information together with 3D geometry. Texture capture is available in both laser and IR scanning modes.
This is particularly useful for heritage preservation, visualisation, digital archiving, AR and VR applications where geometry alone is not sufficient.
The EinScan Rigil fits naturally into professional reverse engineering and additive manufacturing workflows. Scan data can be exported in commonly used formats including STL, OBJ, PLY, 3MF, ASC and LAS.
Users can capture an existing component, create a digital mesh and continue the workflow in CAD, reverse engineering or 3D printing software.
